Dr Larisa Yarovaya

Dr. Larisa Yarovaya is an associate professor of finance and the director of the Centre for Digital Finance at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton, UK. Larisa is also an advisory board member of the British Blockchain Association, which also serves as the secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain Technologies.
With a profound expertise in international finance and fintech, Larisa has contributed significantly to the academic landscape, authoring over 80 papers, and her research has garnered more than 10,000 citations. Her impactful work has been widely disseminated through esteemed media outlets such as BBC, MarketWatch, FT Live, and she has also appeared as an expert in the CNBC series on “Ethereum” and “Stablecoins”.
Larisa is the chair and founding organiser of the annual Cryptocurrency Research Conference, established in 2018 and growing to become the largest niche academic conference in cryptocurrency and DeFi (https://cryptorc.org). Larisa holds editorial roles in esteemed academic journals, serving as an associate editor in the International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Emerging Markets Review, and Research in International Business and Finance. Furthermore, she serves as a subject editor in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, and assumes the role of section editor in Heliyon Finance and Data-in-Brief.
